Refund Policy

Effective Date: October 5, 2026

Last Updated: October 5, 2026

This policy applies to paid Audio-to-MIDI transcription time purchased from MIDI Toolbox.

Merchant of Record

Paid orders are processed by Paddle.com, our Merchant of Record. Paddle handles payment processing, taxes, invoices, payment-related customer service, and approved refunds. Any mandatory cancellation or refund rights under applicable law remain unaffected.

Before Requesting a Refund

If you cannot access purchased time, did not receive an access email, or a transcription failed, contact [email protected]. Include the checkout email and Paddle transaction or receipt number, but never send complete payment-card details.

Failed transcription jobs detected by MIDI Toolbox are normally returned automatically to the associated time balance. Restoring access or returning failed-job time is not a cash refund.

Refund Eligibility

Paddle evaluates refund requests under its buyer terms, refund policy, and applicable consumer law. A refund may be considered for circumstances including:

Change-of-mind requests for time that has already been substantially consumed may be declined where permitted by law. Audio-to-MIDI output is an automated estimate, and a musically imperfect result alone does not establish a technical defect when the service successfully processed and delivered the advertised output.

Effect of a Refund

When a full refund or chargeback is approved, the service time granted by that transaction is reversed, subject to any previous reversal. For a partial refund, a corresponding portion of the purchased entitlement is reversed. This applies even if some of that entitlement has already been used. A balance cannot be exchanged for cash, transferred, or resold.

For approved monetary partial refunds, the corresponding service entitlement is calculated in proportion to the original tax-inclusive order amount, rounded up to the next second and capped at the entitlement not already reversed. A tax-only refund does not remove transcription time. If refunded entitlement has already been used, the balance may become negative; further use requires sufficient remaining time. Successful chargeback reversals restore only entitlement previously removed for that chargeback. Mandatory consumer rights and Paddle's decisions take precedence.

Refund timing depends on the original payment method and Paddle's processing procedures.
