This Privacy Policy explains how MIDI Toolbox ("MIDI Toolbox," "we," "us") handles information when you use miditoolbox.com and its tools.
Most MIDI tools, including the Player, Editor, MIDI-to-audio Converter, Visualizer, and Analyzer, process files locally in your browser. Files used with those tools are not intentionally uploaded to MIDI Toolbox.
Audio to MIDI is different. When you choose Audio to MIDI, the audio file is uploaded over an encrypted connection and sent to our transcription provider, Mirelo, so that MIDI, note data, and, when available, MusicXML can be generated. Do not use Audio to MIDI unless you are authorized to process the recording.
Uploaded audio is stored temporarily in private server storage while a task is queued or processed, and deleted after successful delivery. Unused uploads expire after one hour; cleanup normally runs within five minutes. Files belonging to an unconfirmed task are removed after 24 hours, without treating that removal as confirmation of the task's outcome. Generated MIDI and MusicXML files are available through access-controlled downloads for seven days after completion, then deleted automatically. Task status and billing records may remain for recovery, support and accounting. Mirelo may separately process or retain files under its own API policy.

We use this information to provide the tools, deliver purchases, prevent abuse, restore access, respond to support requests, improve reliability, meet legal obligations, and understand aggregate service usage.
Paddle acts as the Merchant of Record for paid Audio-to-MIDI purchases. Paddle processes payment details, taxes, invoices, fraud checks, refunds, and payment-related customer service under its own privacy policy. MIDI Toolbox does not receive or store complete payment-card details.
We use Resend to deliver secure access emails. Magic links expire after 15 minutes and can be used once. An activated browser session normally expires after 30 days. We store only hashed versions of access and session tokens.

We use essential cookies for locale, security, account access, and service operation. With consent where required, analytics and advertising providers may use cookies or similar technologies. You can use the available consent controls or browser settings to manage non-essential cookies.

We do not sell uploaded music files or payment information. Advertising providers may process identifiers as described in their own disclosures and applicable consent controls.
We retain customer, order, balance-ledger, and support records for as long as reasonably necessary to provide access, handle refunds and disputes, prevent fraud, and comply with tax, accounting, and legal obligations. Security and trial-abuse records may be retained while needed to protect the service. Temporary access tokens expire automatically.
We use HTTPS, access controls, hashed tokens, and other reasonable safeguards. No online service can guarantee absolute security.
Subject to applicable law, you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection, or portability of personal information. Some transaction records must be retained for legal, tax, fraud-prevention, or dispute purposes. You may also withdraw non-essential cookie consent where available.

MIDI Toolbox is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. A parent or guardian who believes a child submitted personal information should contact us.
