The AI MIDI Generator

Free AI MIDI Generator Online — Compose & Continue MIDI

Compose original MIDI music from scratch or extend existing tracks with AI — all in your browser. Pick instruments, set BPM and key, dial in creativity with temperature, and let the model write notes for you. Multi-instrument, drum kits, full advanced controls.

What you get

An AI composer with real producer controls

01

AI smart continuation

Out of ideas? Upload an existing MIDI fragment and let the AI extend it. A 4-bar motif becomes a full piece — without losing your melodic intent.

02

Pro parameter controls

Temperature for creativity, BPM for tempo, time signature, key signature, note density. The same knobs producers expect from an audio AI.

03

128 General MIDI instruments

Pick any combination from the standard GM set: piano, strings, brass, guitars, synth pads, drums. Mix them into a single arrangement.

04

Curated style presets

Piano Solo, Full Orchestra, Wind Ensemble, Rock Band, Electronic, Pop Ballad, Jazz Trio, 8-Bit Game — one-click setups to skip configuration.

05

Advanced sampling controls

Top P, Top K, Max Events, Seed, MIDI CC handling, channel remapping. Power-user knobs for when defaults don't cut it.

06

Standard .MID export

Download the generated music as a clean .MID — drop it into Ableton, FL Studio or Logic Pro for further production. No vendor lock-in.

How it works

From blank page to a full track in a minute

  1. 01

    Pick a preset or instruments

Start with a preset like Piano Solo or Jazz Trio, or hand-pick from 128 GM instruments. Both routes lead to the same generator — presets just save you clicks.

  2. 02

    Optionally seed with MIDI

Drop a .mid file under 2MB into the upload zone. The AI uses it as a continuation prompt and tries to match your melodic and rhythmic intent.

  3. 03

    Set BPM, key and density

Pick a tempo (30—240), key signature, time signature. Adjust the AI's creativity with the Temperature slider — low for safe, high for surprising.

  4. 04

    Generate and listen

Hit Generate. The cloud GPU writes notes for 30—60 seconds. Multiple results stack in the session board so you can compare variations.

  5. 05

    Download the .MID

Click download on any result. Files are temporary and disappear on refresh — grab the ones you like before closing the tab.

Who it's for

Built for four kinds of AI music work

Producers chasing ideas

Break writer's block

Generate 10 variations on a chord progression. Pick the one that sparks something. Open the .mid in your DAW and develop it into a real track.

Composers exploring styles

Quick style demos

Need to hear what a jazz trio version sounds like? Or a wind ensemble? Switch presets and generate. Faster than humming.

Game audio & content

Background music drafts

Need 30 seconds of chiptune for a level, or ambient pads for a cutscene? Generate stems on demand. Replace them later if the project scales.

Music educators

Demonstrate concepts

Show students how the same chord progression sounds across genres. Generate Bach-like, jazz-like, pop-like versions to teach style differences.

Audio-output AIs like Suno give polished results but no editability. MIDI-output AIs like ours give raw notes — you keep full control to mix, change instruments and re-arrange in your DAW.

Common questions

Things people ask before generating

If results aren't great

Common generation issues and fixes

Output sounds chaotic or random
Temperature is too high. Drop it to 0.7—0.9 for more predictable, musical results. Temperature above 1.2 gets creative but often unmusical.
Output sounds boring or repetitive
Temperature is too low or seed is fixed. Raise Temperature to 1.0—1.2 and set seed to 0 (random). You'll get more varied attempts each generation.
AI ignored my uploaded MIDI
Your input may be too short or in a key the model couldn't parse. Try a 4—8 bar fragment with clear melody. Avoid SysEx, sustain pedal events, or unusual time signatures.
Generation takes forever or times out
Free tier has limited GPU capacity at peak times. Wait a few minutes and retry, or lower Max Events to make the generation lighter.

Generation happens on a secure cloud server because GPU inference is too heavy for the browser, but generated files are session-scoped — they vanish on tab refresh. The AI is trained on permissive datasets and produces original output; you are free to use it in your own work, subject to your local AI-content regulations.
